Established in 1996, Grace House was created as a non-profit group home for abused, abandoned, neglected or troubled youth. Primarily serving children in New Mexico, Grace House provides around the clock care and services 7 days per week, 365 days per year to meet the needs of the resident youth and their families.
All services offered are based on need and availability without discrimination by reason of race, sexual preference, religion, national origin, handicap or ability to pay. Services provided are rehabilitative in nature, individualized and target the protection, maintenance, strengthening or enhancement of individual and family life and social and psychological functioning. Grace House supports the principle of least restrictive environment in its' commitment to providing services of a wide and varied focus. |
Grace House is located in Carlsbad, in southeastern New Mexico. The area is rich in natural resources and wildlife and provides many areas for outdoor activities and recreation. Many historical sites and natural phenomena are nearby and available for study and exploration. Carlsbad Caverns is just a few minutes away. Field trips to the Caverns, Guadalupe Peak and the Guadalupe Mountains and other state and national park areas are regular parts of the Outdoor Adventure component of the program.
Recreational activities are many and varied and include participation in Red Cross and Boy Scout swimming and boating activities, bicycle riding, hiking, participation with the Parks Service and Forest Service at various functions within the Parks Systems, and various team and individual activities to aid the youth in developing interests in activities that encourage a healthy lifestyle. Grace House is located on four acres providing ample area for outdoor activities at home. |
As a nonprofit corporation, Grace House is considered a 501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service making Grace House eligible to accept charitable donations. Donations made to Grace House are encouraged and are tax-deductible within the limits and laws of the IRS.
